Todd’s journey began in the vibrant valley of Van Nuys, California, where he spent his early years before moving to Detroit at just seven years old. After overcoming the challenges of relocating and adapting to new environments, he eventually found his way to Arizona. For the past twenty-one years, Arizona has been more than just a home; it has become the backdrop for Todd’s personal and professional growth. As a proud father of two, his ten-year-old daughter brings joy and laughter into his life, while his twenty-year-old son shares his love for the outdoors, from hiking to golfing. Todd believes in savoring life to its fullest and values the positive energy that comes from being surrounded by uplifting individuals.
Professionally, Todd’s path has always been intertwined with the world of construction. From his humble beginnings on job sites, he developed a strong work ethic and an eye for detail that propelled him through the ranks. Fifteen years ago, he took a significant step forward when he became a superintendent, leading a commercial crew in landscaping. However, it was the pivotal influence of his mentor, Fernando Torres, that truly changed the course of his career. Fernando saw potential in Todd that he had not recognized in himself and introduced him to the field of business development—an opportunity that opened doors Todd never imagined possible.
After spending two years in restoration, Todd embraced the challenge of working in affordable housing eight years ago. His determination and hard work have led to remarkable success, tripling his business during his tenure. Yet, beyond the numbers and achievements, Todd’s journey reflects a profound personal transformation. He learned to not only work hard but also to embrace growth and the importance of community.
Todd’s connection to the San Diego Housing Federation began with a chance meeting with Sarah Buchanan, who became a pivotal figure in his professional life. Sarah introduced Todd to the conference circuit, helping him navigate the complexities of the affordable housing sector in California and beyond.
