Soraya Cordero, Wakeland Housing and Development Corp.

Soraya Cordero brings benefits and opportunities to Wakeland’s residents using expertise garnered from more than twenty years of experience in financial coaching, self-empowerment and resident services. As Administrative Coordinator, she performs a wide range of administrative activities for Wakeland’s Resident Services department and provides on-site support for multiple properties to facilitate the efficient operation of services to residents.

Cordero joined Wakeland in 2012 as the Program Coordinator for Creating Opportunities for Resident Enrichment (CORE), a specialized division of our Resident Services program that focuses on strengthening residents’ financial literacy and savings.

Cordero holds numerous certifications in financial education and credit counseling. She is a Certified Financial Education Instructor (National Financial Educators Council) and has a financial coaching certificate from Central New Mexico Community College. She was also trained as a Certified Credit & Home Loan Counselor by the Neighborhood Reinvestment Training Institute.
