San Diego PACE mission is ensure that seniors live independently and safe at home as long as possible. However we all are very aware that COVID changed a lot the concept of how to live safe and independent, especially for our senior community. Now that all these restrictions have lifted, there are still struggles that seniors are undergoing from isolation, fear and trauma they may have lived during those years. For this reason we worked hard with our Social Worker team on a mental health series to bring to housing communities as well as other social events.
Like everything, presentations can be a hit or miss, and with that comes a sense of failure. However, we as a service provider understand this and try our best to help the service coordinators promote and even make changes to what we do for each community.
This senior presentation is led by our Social Worker Supervisor(MSW) Israel Garcia, and with his expertise talk about the experience and the many different ways to navigate the communication and relationship with seniors after COVID.
