In preparation for Lobby Day, RUN met with Assembly member Chris Ward and his staff on February 16th to do a bit of research on RUN’s priority bills and learn how to better advocate for them. Although Assembly member Ward was in a middle of a vote, he still made time to meet our RUN members for a few minutes.

As RUN heads to Lobby Day, March 16th – 18th, RUN members have already gone through extensive training to tell their stories and advocate for AB 71 (permanent funding for supportive housing), and AB 328 (prison funding to provide housing for formerly incarcerated individuals). With new and experienced RUN leaders joining for virtual Lobby Day, Maria, Joyce, and Lavearn will lead 2 teams into several visits with state legislators representing San Diego.
