PMIB Update: As a result of the
San Diego Lobby Day delegation's visit a few weeks ago,
Senator Christine Kehoe called a meeting of HCD, the
Treasurer's Office, the Controller's Office, the
Federation and Housing California to try to get clarity
for us on the status of the bond funding. The
Housing California Capitol
Reporter for May 20, 2009 has the best report
on the outcome.
Legislative Update: According to
Framing the
Issues, Assembly Budget Sub 4 restored $4
million in EHAP funding on Monday. The
subcommittee amended the Emergency Housing Assistance
Program to require that funds be set aside for veterans
only, or veteran preference homeless programs. The
percentage of the set-aside would equal the percentage
of homeless veterans in the state's homeless
population. |
