TCAC Reg Change Hearing on Wednesday

The California Tax Credit Allocation Committee ("TCAC") will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, June 10 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the EDD Auditorium, 722 Capitol Mall, Sacramento 95814 on proposed amendments to the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Qualified Allocation Plan. The regulation changes are associated with the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and are available here

TCAC is setting aside $100 million in ARRA Funds for projects with HCD funding that have yet to begin construction. Funds shall be committed from this set-aside to generate adequate construction financing, in concert with cash in lieu or gap financing awards. Within the Tax Exempt Bond Project competition, applicants may request zero ARRA funds where no equity gap exists, and apply for funds to assist with construction period financing only.

If you are applying for 9% tax credits, click here to see the answers to frequently asked questions from the CTCAC application workshops in early May.  These refer to the 2009 9% applications and ARRA funding applications (for tax credit exchange).
